In order to ensure a coordinated
calculation of transmission system operators' interconnections between
neighboring countries, the NCC on November 16, 2018 approved the Proposal of
the Capacity Calculation Methodology within the Baltic Capacity Calculation
Region (hereinafter – the Methodology) which was prepared and agreed by Litgrid
AB together with other Transmission System Operators of the Baltic capacity
calculation region.
The Methodology defines the
calculation, provision
and allocation rules between Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, as well as Poland,
Sweden, and Finland's energy systems for the coming years, months and weeks,
also for the next day and intra-day. These calculations are necessary for
electricity market participants trading activities.
We remind that the Baltic
capacity calculation region consists of the following countries: Lithuania,
Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Sweden, Finland. The common agreement between
Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, Finland and Poland on the Methodology was
reached on September 17, 2018.
